July Monthly Wrap-up 🌻 // reviewing goals // books I read // and more!

Hey people, elves, demigods, witches, wizards, and all! Hope you’re doin’ well. 🌻
So for the first time ever, I actually remembered that monthly wrap-ups exist, and I’ve begun it two days early! That’s improvement at it’s finest right there. 😌all those people who’ve been doing this for years just staring into my soul right now-
But 29th or not, unlike some people, who put out their monthly wrap-ups A WHOLE DAY EARLY (why would you do that, folks? What if you finish a book on 31st morning? HUH? What will you do then? ☹), mine is coming out on 31st.
Anyway, let’s get into it (I do NOT have the energy for a longer intro right now because I know this post will take forever)!

You guys probably didn’t notice, but I never did a new month post at the beginning of July. Mostly because I was too busy with a sleepover, my collab with Sep, and my magazine (which still came out late. Argh). There was like no time for a whole new month post, but I did still make goals:

  • Read 11+ books
After a fairly good reading month, I thought I could do it! Oh boy was I wrong. 😔 I read a whopping…. well I’ll do this annoying thing and tell you to wait until the next section where I go over the books I read. *evil laugh*
  • Crochet a headband✔
I mean technically, I did crochet a headband. Two of them, actually. Both were very, very loose. But hey I never mentioned that it actually has to fit me, right? So it totallyyy counts.
  • Keep up with journal
Here, I meant my bullet journal, because good ol’ Rayna decided to give it another go! I have been making my schedules in there, but the other pages I did have been loooooong forgotten. *sigh* I’ll try including less stuff to fill out in August, so it’ll be easier for me to keep up.
  • Write Julia’s story
Does thinking about her story count? No? Oh well. Fail.
  • Finish blog magazine
Oh my goodness. I’m actually quite behind. 😳 Hopefully it’ll still be on time…

So over all, my goals are one big failure. The one goal I did manage is also kind of a big fail. Sooooo…………. let’s just move on and hope my new goals are much, much, much better!

As I said, my reading month was ✨terrible.✨ I only read six books. SIX!!!! What the heck is wrong with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😲 I seriously can’t believe this. *head in hands outta misery* WAIT THAT FEELS LIKE A SONG LYRIC. Excuse me everyone, I’ll be right back after writing a poem with that line in it. *pushes away from table*
I’m baaaaack to do some mini-reviews of the books I read this month! Last time I didn’t feel like doing mini-reviews, but this month I am. 🙃 (probably because of the miserably measly amount of books I read)

Party Princess by Meg Cabot - 9781447287803 - Pan Macmillan

AHHH it’s been so long I can barely remember it. I do know I liked it, and I want to get more of the books in the series. It’s a unique and fun style which I really enjoyed reading.

Buy Let the Sky Fall (Volume 1) Book Online at Low Prices in India | Let the Sky Fall (Volume 1) Reviews & Ratings - Amazon.in

I actually did a full review for this one, so click on the book cover if you want to read it!

Indigo's Star: Buy Indigo's Star by McKay Hilary at Low Price in India | Flipkart.com

Did I accidentally pick up the second book instead of the first? Well…. yes. Did I violate several bookworm laws and read it anyway? Oh hell yes. 😎 (actually no wait I despise that emoji)
Anyway, at first I thought I wasn’t really liking the style, but after a while I realized it’s something I really like. I’m planning on reviewing it soon, so stick around for that. (: (oh geez, when you think about it, this emote is seriously creepy too)

Buy Saffy's Angel (Casson Family) Book Online at Low Prices in India | Saffy's Angel (Casson Family) Reviews & Ratings - Amazon.in

Right after Indigo’s Star, I made sure to read the first book too: Saffy’s Angel. It was just as awesome as the first. 😌
(again, stick around for a review!)

Let the Storm Break (Sky Fall Book 2) eBook : Messenger, Shannon: Amazon.in: Kindle Store

I think it’s better than the first one, buuuuuuut still not great, unfortunately. I’m probably gonna be reviewing it soon!

Permanent Rose by Hilary McKay - 9781529033328 - Pan Macmillan

The Casson Family series is stilllllllllllllllll awesome. I finished the third book just on time, since it’s now 31st, and I finished it about an hour ago.

This is a new section I’ve added, to tell ya’ll about my most played songs this month! Since I use Amazon music, I can’t actually figure out what they are, but I’ll just guess my way through. 😃 (sarcastic emoji, by the way, for those of you who don’t keep up with the blogosphere)
Also, this is probably going to stay very similar every month, so feel free to skip it next time. 😂

IT FEELS LIKE ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS!
This is so catchy man. ✌ I’m actually listening to it for the 1998834835945986985368th time now. 😌

I love this song, like, a looooot, but I’m very glad Amazon Music doesn’t include the rap bits. I’m not a fan of rap. At all.

I’ve been listening to this A LOT because I was learning to sing it, and my dad was learning how to play it on guitar. Of course, I like it anyway, but it’s a tad slow for moi.

It’s a little repetitive, but catchy, and I love singing the “You hear my voice, you hear that sound? Like thunder gonna shake the ground” parts.

I, unsurprisingly, did not remember to update this section every time I loved//enjoyed a post. So I’m going to scroll through the reader, and find a few of them.

Sep spews a whole lotta gibberish which is super fun. 😂
I’m including this post by Nehal because me, Zoe, and some others got the comments to over ONE THOUSAND!!!!!!!!!!
Roshni plays truth or dare!
Maggie posts part one, part two, and part three of a wonderful new blog coaching series!
Allison shares some journal inspiration (:
Diamond drops Petal in the pool. 😳

Wellll that’s all I’m gonna include.

This time, I’m not including a “life” section, because I NEVER have anything to put. I bet future me will be super mad at present me for not recapping some stuff that happened throughout the month, but… oh well. 🤷‍♀️

I hope you enjoyed my wrap-up, because as usual, it took a really long time. I’ve been slowly working on it for two days! Not like, the whole of two days. 48 hours on a post is way too much. But you guys aren’t that stupid.
..I hope.

*claps hands* Well, on that happy note, I’ll end the post! Make sure to click here to find all of my posts in July (there are 13, which is my favourite number!!!) Have a great day everyone, and make sure to come back on 2nd August for my new month post. 👋

  1. Ahhh Ray darl, I see I inspired you to write this? I’m honored.
Also, I did realise the demerits of keeping on schedule. Remember that new book I showed you? XOXO? I finished it on 29th and then I finished another book on 30th. : (. Both books deserve mention in my wrap-up, but the scheduleeeeeeee.

Well, you did make the goals…sooo kudos for that. And erm, do better next time.

And you read the princess diaries? I SEEEEEEEE. The time you read book 2, I want to buddy read or at least discuss please. 🙂

Also your songs are just too relatable. I don’t really like All too Well, but I love the Red album.

  3. Me when I woke up: *finally checks the date*
Me: July is over already? Summer break is almost over! Ooh, middle school, lockers.

I have watched Princess Diaries (the movie), but I’ve never read the book. Maybe I should read it sometime. Haha, that’s probably gonna be in a long time, considering how many books I have on my bucket list right now.

Yeah, this summer I have finished a pathetic amount of books.

Wow, this is a really weird and disorganized and random comment. Sorry!
