There are four holes
Right outside my home
I often wonder if anyone else knows
That two rats live in those?
There’s a huge tree
Right there, in front of my balcony
Does anyone else here see
The many little birds, chirping camouflaged in the leaves?
There are many dog walkers who walk by my house
Do any of them see me up here?
It’s not like I’m a quiet mouse,
And so I wonder if they do.
There are so many things that people don’t spot
Like the squirrels, those eagles, the occasional dog
And of course, there’s that singing girl
Who never stops.
